SUMMARY:
Brown University Health is looking for a detail-oriented and creative candidate who wants to assist with managing, maintaining and analyzing MRI and cognitive data, assist with organizing international calls and meetings, as well as coordinate and organize wider outreach. The project focuses on using MRI derived measures to predict childhood academic performance and is the leading site of an international consortium. The position is appointed full-time, with an immediate start date.The candidate may further participate in qualitative/quantitative data analyses and review relevant literature to gather information; may participate in development of research protocols or assist with MRI procedures, perform developmental assessments, and/ or take vital signs during research-based monitoring tests.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
All tasks will be performed under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator and Clinical Research Coordinator.Database maintenance and assistance with data analysis:• white-space:pre Data organization into appropriate format to facilitate data analysis• white-space:pre Preparation of related graphs and charts or results of data gathered• white-space:pre May perform computer-assisted statistical analysis such as multiple antecedent variables, linear regression, frequencies, cross tabulations and the like• white-space:pre May write non-complex programs using computer and software –compatible language to reformat information, create new files, etc.• white-space:pre May participate in quantitative and qualitative analyses of resultant information• white-space:pre May review literature pertaining to research being conducted in order to better understand project and gather relevant informationAssists Principal Investigators with administrative aspects of organizing a larger consortium study:• white-space:pre Follow up on documents needed from consortium members• white-space:pre Assistance with meeting organization• white-space:pre Scheduling of international calls• white-space:pre Taking meeting minutes• white-space:pre Organization of calendar commitmentsCoordination and organization of wider outreach:• white-space:pre Planning and posting of social media posts• white-space:pre Assistance with article submission• white-space:pre Coordination and follow up of planned publications within the consortiumMaintains computer equipment, arranges for internal/external service as necessary to effect repairs and maintenance.May assist or perform research-based MRI scans, perform developmental assessments, vital signs, in accordance with protocol specifications. May assist in planning research protocols.If applicable, ability to perform venipuncture techniques and capillary puncture on adults. Must have appropriate certifications/licensure
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related area.EXPERIENCE:Three to six months on-the-job experience to become familiar with the specific needs of research studies and/ or data management.Knowledge of theory and techniques of research methodology, and analytical skills to participate in developing research protocols, perform statistical analyses and participate in qualitative/quantitative analyses of research data.Technical ability to operate and maintain computer system.Minimal coding experience preferred (python or MatLab) and experience with neuroimaging analysis programs (FreeSurfer, FSL) favorably seen.Existing or emerging social media presence favorable seen.Organizational skills to organize and prioritize own efforts on multiple projects and to prepare and maintain reports, etc.Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with scientists and Healthcare professionals across the world to gather and exchange information.Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care patients with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:May spend much of the time sitting and in front of a computer.INDEPENDENT ACTION:Perform independently within the department’s policies and practices. Refers specific complex problems to the supervisor when clarification of the departmental policies and procedures are required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:None.
Pay Range:
