SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, provides analysis and programming to assist in reporting needs for the Patient Financial Services department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Utilizes Epic EHR system, Clarity and Crystal reporting tools to meet a wide-range of reporting needs throughout the Brown University Health organization.Meets with personnel from various revenue departments and groups within PFS, to define and resolve reporting issues.Coordinates testing and validation of reports before distribution to reporting customers.Maintains documentation on reports, to include logic for selection criteria as well as definition of display columns. Updates documentation whenever reporting changes are madeUtilizes technology to automate reports on schedules – daily, weekly, or monthly. Also utilizes technology in distribution of reports.Extracts and combines data across multiple EHR systems, with ability to interpret and combine into user-friendly reports.Maintains technical awareness through appropriate training, seminar and conference attendanceWorks on special projects as needed and assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in healthcare management, accounting, finance, business management, or computer science. Master’s Degree preferred. A combination of computer-related technical training and successively increasing information systems management responsibility may substitute for a degree.Experience working with Epic EHR and Business Objects desired.Epic PB and/or HB Clarity reporting writing certification desired, or to be obtained within 6 months of hire date.Ability to design and develop database financial reports for forecasting, trending and results analysis in a clear and concise presentation. Proficient comprehension of semi-complex mathematical formulas and calculations.Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Proven ability to communicate technical and related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff. Analytical and organizational skills with strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities.Ability to work as part of a professional team and to collaborate effectively with management, employees and outside vendors.EXPERIENCE3-5 years work experience developing and distributing reporting based on internal customer requirements. Preference given to candidates with experience in a healthcare setting. Advanced Excel skills required, SQL desired.
Pay Range:
