Laundry Worker

SUMMARY: Under general supervision of the Transport/Laundry Supervisor, performs a variety of duties relative to the processing of laundered items through the hospital’s laundry. The core Success Factors include: Instill Trust and Value Differences Patient and Community Focus and Collaborate RESPONSIBILITIES: Participates in the daily activities and operations of the laundry department. Operates washer and dryer according to established department procedure. Performs laundry related duties to include pick up of soiled linen and delivery of clean linen to all units and clinical areas. Folds linen and operates the Scrub-Avail System. Stocks fresh linen on all linen carts. Picks up and delivers linen carts to departments. Organizes all clean linens inside and outside laundry department daily. Maintains and monitors par levels of linen for the hospital. Maintains the cleanliness of the laundry areas. Other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BASIC KNOWLEDGE: High School graduate or equivalent level of education normally attained in courses at secondary school levels. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Read, write legibly and speak English. EXPERIENCE: May require up to two months to become proficient in routines performed. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Healthcare environment such as acute care hospitals, physician office and/or ancillary healthcare enterprise. Any potential workplace hazards are minimized or nullified by adherence to established safety procedures and precautions including the use of safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Physical ability to perform required tasks and ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Pay Range:

$17.00-$25.31
