SUMMARY: The Supv Environmental Svcs executes company and facility ESD programs and procedures by training, supervising and motivating the ESD personnel to ensure all tasks are completed, schedules are met, as well as ensuring adherence to all Miriam Hospital & Brown University Health Policies and Procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES: Evaluates employee performance standards annually in a timely manner.Continuously reviews, councils, and advises staff member’s performance, including attendance, work quality, and takes corrective actions as needed.Conducts disciplinary action with the approval of the Operations Manager and/or Director, including warning preparations, counseling, coaching and issuance on a timely basis.Conducts training sessions with ESD personnel regularly as assigned.Monitors and inspects all ESD equipment regularly to ensure it is maintained in a clean condition and in good repair. Recommends equipment repair as needed.Consistently completes appropriate forms, record keeping including but not limited to: Room Inspections, Satisfaction Surveys, Individual Training Records and Competencies.Evaluates staff fitness for duty, use of proper uniform, and picture ID’s for all staff.Consistently makes rounds throughout the hospital to observe quality, standards of work, safety practices, Infection Control practices and use of proper body mechanics.Participates in setting priorities and planning of all project work, floor and carpet care.Reports all repair issues to maintenance in a timely manner and follows up to completion.Consistently applies the corporate values of respect, honesty, and fairness, and the constant pursuit of quality in all aspects of work.Conducts periodic individual and/or group meetings. Prepares staffing schedule & provides back up staff when needed. Provides and maintains subordinate staff development plans. Develops standards for subordinate staff performance.Plans, organizes and coordinates the daily operation of the environmental services department for assigned areas to ensure adherence to established quality standards. Participates in developing departmental policies and procedures.Participates in developing goals, objectives and organizational structure with department Site Manager. Recommends changes to department structure and procedures as appropriate.Communicates with supervisors from other departments to answer questions and resolve and problems that may arise.Prepares and maintains a Drivers Qualification Record file on all drivers subject to the established Brown University Health Fleet Risk Control Policy.Performs other related duties as required, including, but not limited to Aide, Project Worker & Supply Coordinator. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BASIC KNOWLEDGE:Equivalent to completion of 4 years of high school. Knowledge of environmental services methods, techniques, products and equipment required. Must have good driving record, meet and maintain the appropriate and valid driver license.EXPERIENCE:One to three years environmental services experience. One to three years of formal supervisory experience.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Considerable walking and standing; occasional exposure to adverse conditions while inspecting. Directly supervises personnel.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Direct Supervision for up to 40 FTEs to include ESD Aide and Project Worker personnel. Supervision includes scheduling, training and recommendation of personnel actions.

Pay Range:

$42,751.80-$70,577.42
