We're invested in your success.
Brown University Health's culture is one of patient-oriented service, where our shared CARE values of compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence are demonstrated every day. Team members are deeply invested in the community and see their roles as important in bettering the lives of Rhode Islanders. We also share a willingness to help each other and consistently go out of our way to provide guidance to newer employees. Our goal is to provide outstanding healthcare while being kind to one another. We also offer plenty of room for career satisfaction and growth in a place where you can build a career, not just a job.
We Embrace Inclusion
We are Rhode Island's largest private employer, and our employees represent a broad spectrum of experience, occupations, and cultural backgrounds. We consider the cultural richness of our workforce as one of our most valuable assets and are committed to diversity and inclusion in our hiring practices.
Our Belonging and Equity (BE) Department is led by a dedicated Vice President and Chief Belonging & Equity Officer, who has built a framework and provided structure to various diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Through BE, a coalition of willing employees serves on action teams with specific task-oriented goals to help promote concepts and behaviors that improve cultural belonging. There are workstreams with focused efforts, newsletters devoted to rotating content, educational sessions, and much more, including:
- A senior executive level Diversity Leadership Council.
- Cultural competency training and education.
- A growing list of Employee Resource Groups.
- Community partnerships and relations.
- Best practice Affirmative Action plans.
- A top-down commitment to hiring diverse team members.
- And many other best practices in belonging and equity.
