Health and Human Services Career Day

The Health and Human Service Career Day is designed to inspire individuals to work in the health and human services industry (HHS). This day will feature employers, institutes of higher learning, training programs, and other partners connected with the HHS industry.

What to Expect at the Event

Simulation Labs: Simulation Labs use manikins and simulation actors to replicate life-like health and human service scenarios, with observations and debriefs.
•Facilities: Observation and debrief rooms, three Specialist rooms
(OR, Maternity, CRNA), Home Care Lab and Patient Exam Rooms
•Demographics: Simulation labs will feature the following
demographics: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Eldercare,
Developmental Disabilities
•Scenarios: Sessions will reflect real life, current conditions in the
industry. Examples of simulations may include – RSV, COVID-19,
Behavioral/Mental Health, Substance Abuse/Dual Diagnosis,
Cardiology, Oncology/Cancer, Dental, Alzheimer’s/Dementia,
Physical Therapy, Homebased Well Visit

Skills Labs: Skills Lab classrooms are set up for hands-on learning, with hospital beds and manikins to practice medical procedures.
•Specialty Skills: Pediatrics, Maternity, ICU; Health Assessment Lab,
Med/Surge Skills Lab, Manikins, Equipment, Supplies
•Skills Labs: Primary Care/Well Check – Vitals, Behavioral/Mental
Health, Phlebotomy, Dental, Medical Technician – Ultrasound,
Heart Monitoring, EKG

Career Talks: Panels and workshops will feature speakers/occupations in the health and human services field. (ER, ICU, Peds), Respiratory Therapist, Surgical Technician, Lab Technician, Licensed Nursing Assistant, Physician, Psychologist/Psychiatrist, Physical Therapist, Pharmacist, Dentist, Dental Hygienist, Dental Assistant, Social Workers/Case Managers, Recovery Specialist, I/DD Direct Support Professionals, and Biomedical Equipment Technician.

Training and Education Fair (11:30 am – 4:00 pm): The Training and Education Fair will be an opportunity for career day participants to hear, meet and learn about educational and training offerings available from participating institutions.

Career Fair (11:30 am – 4:00 pm): The Career Fair will showcase open employment opportunities in the health and human service field for job seekers, with recruiters and employers onsite to screen and interview candidates.
