Summary:
Primary responsibilities include repairing installing planning troubleshooting and laying out the wiring electrical circuits hospital equipment electrical machinery and appliances throughout the hospital.
Other job assignments may include but are not limited to grounds work/maintenance moving furniture snow removal demolition general maintenance and construction involving trades (e.g. carpentry painting etc.)
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs routine testing of generators and transfer switches
- Performs routine testing of fire alarm systems
- Performs routine maintenance/electrical work assignments
- Performs electrical work related to construction work in a timely and quality manner
- Provides feedback on improving methods used to perform construction work
- Develops new methods procedures etc. to perform duties
- Properly reads and interprets schematics to resolve problems
- Assures satellites are clean and presentable as assigned
- Performs daily inspection of satellites as assigned
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients families visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional responsible and courteous environment.
- Commits to recognize and respect cultural diversity for all customers (internal and external).
- Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures values beliefs and ages utilizing interpreters when needed.
Other information:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience as a registered Electrician required
- Knowledge of blueprint reading electricity and mathematics.
- Familiarity with state electric codes
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- MA journeyman electrician's license required. Valid Driver's License in good standing.
