Imaging Service Coordinator

SUMMARY

The Imaging Service Coordinator (ISC) supports the imaging department and radiologists with administrative tasks to increase departmental efficiency, accuracy, and safety. This position acts as the liaison between radiologists and ordering providers, ensures STAT outpatient imaging exams are scheduled timely without barriers, and closed loop communication of actionable findings. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Tracking, reporting, and communicating radiologic findings meeting criteria and recommendations to ordering providers
  • Daily review of exams changed due to protocol updates and obtain new order and prior authorization as needed
  • Approving add-on imaging studies using predetermined criteria as specified by the respective subspecialty sections
  • Relaying technical issues to IT as directed by Radiologists
  • Supporting Radiologists with interdepartmental and external communication, coordinating dialogue between providers, retrieval of necessary documents for report addendums, and other administrative tasks
  • Triage Reading Room phone calls; transfer calls to the appropriate extension, and document and distribute messages to and from Radiologists
  • Pre-screen and confirm appointments for exams as needed and communicate conflicts/contraindications to the modality lead/manager
  • Reviewing and ensuring accuracy of imaging templates
  • Reviewing modality schedules for conflicts
  • Performing other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Associate’s degree preferred

EXPERIENCE: Two or more years of administrative healthcare experience or related required
Prior experience with Epic strongly preferred

$19.03 - $31.39
