Learning and Development Lead - Onboarding

SUMMARY:The Learning and Development Lead - Onboarding will play a key role on a team that strives to ensure Brown University Health can attract develop and retain the best talent. The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate manage and optimize the in-person New Employee Orientation (NEO) program and 90 Day Onboarding roadmap for Brown University Health. The centralized NEO program is conducted in the Brown University Health headquarters in Providence RI. It is a highly visible and strategically important program ensuring that new hires feel welcomed informed and emotionally engaged with Brown University Health from the very beginning of their employment and translating that into retention and engagement outcomes. The Learning and Development Lead - Onboarding also plays a quality control role regarding the facility Orientation programs that new employees attend after the centralized program in each Hospital/facility making up the Brown Health system. As capacity permits the Learning and Development Lead - Onboarding will also contribute to design development delivery and program management of other professional and management development programs. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and presentation skills a passion for helping others and the ability to deliver and sustain a positive and inclusive onboarding experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor�s degree in Education Communications Business or related field or the equivalent experience

Min 3-5 years of related experience in training and development talent management communications organizational development or related field

Excellent public speaking and verbal communication skills in a corporate environment

Excellent large group facilitation skills

Skilled at delivering virtual training

Demonstrated ability to actively collaborate and build relationships with diverse stakeholders

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once

Ability to take initiative and be proactive without waiting for direction

Ability to clearly communicate complex information and to effectively motivate small and large groups

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Centralized New Employee Orientation (NEO) Program

Deliver an outstanding in-person learning/engagement experience for all new hires to Brown University Health facilitating the system-wide New Employee Orientation program on a regular cadence to groups of 50-150 people.

Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment encouraging a group of new employees coming into very diverse set of roles and organizational levels to connect with each other ask questions and participate actively.

Update presentations materials activities and related materials to ensure they are current relevant and aligned with organizational goals.

Coordinate with various departments to schedule speakers and subject matter experts for orientation sessions.

Assist with related administrative/logistic tasks such as attendee tracking preparing orientation schedules materials and reporting.

Work closely with the Employee Listening lead to collect and analyze data about the new hire experience; use insights to continuously optimize the NEO program.

Stay informed about best practices in New Employee Onboarding and incorporate them as relevant into the orientation program.

Provide regular updates to Talent Management HR and Business leaders about the Orientation Program including satisfaction scores improvements underway and impacts of the program on retention and engagement.

Facility Orientation

Coordinate and consult with leaders of the Facility-specific orientation programs (that follow the first day centralized program) auditing for quality and consistency.

Onboarding

Maintain the 90 Day Onboarding Guide and other tools and resources that support manager and employees through the onboarding process.

Other Learning & Development Responsibilities (as capacity allows)

Support needs assessment design sourcing facilitation and sustainment of other Learning & Development programs including self-paced learning instructor-led learning micro-learning peer-learning interactive learnings to drive desired outcomes

Perform other duties as assigned.
