Summary: Reports to Manager Medication Access Program (MAP). Under the supervision of the Manager MAP Ops Specialist assists with the development implementation and maintenance of MAP services. Supports establishing strong collaborative MAP-clinic relationships. Serves as a resource and liaison to practitioners pharmacists nurses and clinic personnel and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to triage a variety of logistical technical and supportive tasks to assist the MAP team. Researches and responds to a variety of functions including but not limited to metrics reporting case management auditing and policy and procedure updates. Monitors and responds to customer complaints or clinic inquiries to provide positive customer service. Protects and maintains patient/customer confidentiality while collecting patient/customer personal information as necessary for the MAP program.
Responsibilities: Coordinates the development implementation and maintenance of Medication Access Program (MAP) refill authorization prior authorization and financial assistance services in collaboration with the Manager MAP to result in strong collaborative MAP � clinic relationships. Serves as a resource and liaison to practitioners pharmacists nurses and clinic personnel and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to triage a variety of logistical technical and supportive tasks to assist the MAP team. Ensures MAP team is offering Brown University Health Pharmacy as an option for patient�s prescription needs. Participates in strategic business planning for current and new clinics. Partners with various clinics when needed to roll-out new services and operationalize MAP workflows. Assists the Manager in reviewing capacity across all the MAP service lines on an ongoing basis. Proactively balances priorities to help maintain the goals of the program. Collaborates with the Manager to review program metrics to help drive decision-making efforts for the program and target outcomes and goal. Monitors and responds to customer complaints or clinic inquiries to provide positive customer services. Protects and maintains patient/customer confidentiality while collecting patient/customer personal information as necessary Participates in the interview process for new MAP team members. Coordinates training and onboarding of new team members in partnership with the MAP technician supervisor. Conducts credentialing audits as appropriate and notifies the Manager of follow-ups as needed. Performs quality assurance audits and participates in quality improvement activities for all MAP service lines as needed and reports results to the Manager. Contributes to the mid-year evaluations and annual performance appraisal process of MAP team members. Completes the final review of schedules created by the MAP technician supervisor as applicable. Represents the MAP team when interacting with other departments. Demonstrates a strong customer service presence and verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively interact with internal and external customers. Performs other duties as assigned.
Other information: BASIC KNOWLEDGE: High school graduate or equivalent required. Completion of one to two years of college preferred. Holds and maintains current unrestricted Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician II licensure and current National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT). EXPERIENCE: Three years progressively more responsible related work experience as a pharmacy technician or technician specialist preferably gained within a Brown University Health Pharmacy. Work is exacting and requires the ability to maintain attention to detail in a high-paced environment to avoid errors in documentation. Effective interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal. Must possess solid computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite as well as email and calendar applications. Must be comfortable in using internet web applications and multiple pharmacy system applications. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work may require extended periods of time spent sitting. Requires the visual and manual dexterity to operate a computer. May require occasional travel between affiliates and sites. INDEPENDENT ACTION: Performs independently within department policies and procedures. Refers specific complex problems to supervisor where clarification of departmental policies and procedures may be required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None
