SAH Food Service Associate

SUMMARY

Provides Patient Meal Service and cleans all areas supporting Meal Service. RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately assemble, distribute, and collect patient trays
  • Collect patient trays at the appropriate time and in an efficient manner
  • Clean all wares used for this purpose
  • Clean all equipment used for this purpose
  • Clean dish machine, dish room, and equipment appropriately
  • Respond to patient requests in a timely manner
  • Pass patient trays in a correct and courteous manner
  • Handle food in a safe manner (i.e. maintains temps, uses barriers, observes HACCP plan)
  • Strip trays per procedure and in a timely manner
  • All other tasks as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to understand and follow instructions

  • Read English

  • Work on feet for long periods of time

  • Able to be courteous with all customer groups

  • Previous food service experience

  • Be cooperative in interactions, treating customers with courtesy, respect, and compassion

  • Be patient when responding to questions and answer questions appropriately

  • Respond to requests in a timely manner

  • Handle interruptions in a skillful way

  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor

  • Strive to prevent/resolve customer concerns to the customer's satisfaction

  • Be responsible for ongoing development of his/her work skills through the use of available resources (i.e.: in-services, formal educational programs, other work groups, and on-the-job training)

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-services and/or review documentation as required

  • Assist in the orientation of others and actively participate in mentoring

  • Perform analytical and decision-making functions with minimal supervision

  • Recognize and seek assistance/consultation when appropriate

  • Demonstrate an understanding of relative Hospital and all-departmental policies and procedures including safety issues

  • Possess awareness of programs/services provided by Hospital and where they are located
