SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Information Systems, the Senior Finance Systems Analyst supports initiatives and projects related to department applications/systems with the primary purpose of optimizing the functionality of technology compatible with Brown Health’s financial business needs. The senior analyst primarily functions as a Workday subject matter expert (SME) for finance, payroll, and foundational data model (FDM) arenas, leads and facilitates cross-functional optimization projects and drives business-as-usual process improvement initiatives. This role will be a key contributor in the development of new system strategies across multiple systems, business lines, and entities that align to organizational goals. As an operational expert in systems related to finance, payroll, and FDM, the Senior Finance Systems Analyst provides advanced consultative and analytical services to optimize utilization, improve data integrity, and streamline systems with a primary focus on Workday utilization.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Partners with internal and external stakeholders across the system to develop and support comprehensive finance, payroll, and FDM solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives that drive the Workday ERP roadmap; regularly present actionable recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders to guide informed decision-making.
Serves as an expert on finance, payroll, and FDM system capability, typically an advanced module within Workday; stays informed about Workday's latest features by attending hosted webinars and leveraging Workday Community to utilize learnings to adequately consult business stakeholders on solutions that aim to optimize operations and educate stakeholders on best practices and advanced functional-technical solutions.
Lead or support complex, cross-functional initiatives, migrations, and upgrades specific to finance, payroll, and FDM processes and technologies; works closely with SMEs, team members, and stakeholders across the organization to develop proposals and project plans for Workday and related finance, payroll, and FDM applications.
Translate finance, payroll, and FDM functional and technical requirements into effective system designs and configurations; configure and test complex finance, payroll, and FDM business processes.
Serve as a key member of cross-functional workgroups (e.g., integrations, reporting, security) across all Workday domains/functional areas (i.e., SCM, HR, Finance, and Technology); is comfortable with complex integrations and offers input on the design and modifications related to finance, payroll, and FDM, including data exchange with Workday and other platforms.
Provide Tier 2 support, troubleshooting complex system issues and identifying and implementing resolutions; communicates systems issues to finance, payroll, and FDM management, proposing alternate solutions; apply advanced problem-solving skills to address system issues promptly and effectively mentor junior team members to support their growth and development.
Create and maintain detailed system documentation for finance, payroll, and FDM processes.
At the direction of the Workday Release Manager, lead bi-annual release for specific functional areas in accordance with the overarching testing plan and timeline; review release notes for specific areas and make recommendations for adopting new features; partner with finance, payroll, and FDM non-technical users to develop test scripts, provide testing guidance, and research and resolve issues.
Gather reporting requirements from non-technical users; advise customers in reporting best practices as well as technical opportunities and challenges; may develop new, complex reports or enhance existing reports; develop or support finance and payroll reporting and analytics strategies that lead to informed decision-making, continuous improvement, and user adoption.
Create Enterprise Builder Integrations (EIBs) to support complex mass data uploads; validate correct format, data integrity, and successful upload.
May support other systems and perform other duties as needed.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree required. Project management and/or process improvement certification/training (such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) preferred.
Education requirements may be substituted with related work experience on a one-to-one basis (e.g., one year of related experience equals one year of education).
EXPERIENCE
- 3 years of related experience required
- Proficiency in Workday required. Workday Certification is a plus.
- Experience with reporting tools and advanced skills using Excel, SharePoint, MS Teams; proficiency in additional Microsoft 365 applications
- Strong understanding of finance and/or payroll processes including required knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends is beneficial
- Experience with root cause analysis and process improvement methodologies preferred
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Applied attention to detail and experience translating business needs into technical solutions and troubleshooting issues
- Possess a functional understanding of data and analytics.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Provides functional guidance to others who may be assigned on a project basis.
Pay Range
$90,729.60-$149,697.60
